Generally, tumor cells that develop into cancers grow at an exceptionally high rate and thus require large supplies of nutrients. For this reason, tumor cells secrete various growth factors to stimulate proliferation of endothelial cells. This phenomenon allows tumor cells to obtain essential factors such as oxygen and nutrients. Our efforts focus on blocking vascular formation to overcome cancer.
